How to Run a Fair Classroom Raffle
Teachers — here's how to use a spinner wheel to run transparent, exciting classroom raffles your students will trust.
A good classroom raffle keeps students engaged and rewards positive behavior. A bad one makes kids feel cheated. The difference is usually how visible and fair the draw feels.
Step 1: Decide what students are entering for. Small prizes work better than rare ones — frequent wins keep motivation high.
Step 2: Add each student or ticket as a line in Wheel of Names. If you award extra tickets for great work, just enter the name multiple times — the wheel automatically weights it.
Step 3: Project the wheel on the board. Visibility is what turns a raffle into a moment. Use fullscreen mode and let the class count down the spin together.
Step 4: Toggle 'Remove winner after spin' if you're picking several winners in a row. This prevents the same student from being picked twice.
Step 5: Save the wheel. Next time you run the raffle, your roster is already loaded.
